Final Scene&Process-During the Making
When I made the scene for the first time, I wanted to use kiwi and spoon as the first scene. The left end of the spoon is a happy family, and the right end of the spoon sits a lonely person. The curvature of the spoon represents a bridge. And on the right end of the bridge is the cliff. The white people who fell underground are dead people who can't survive in solitude. But in the end, I did not choose this scene. I chose to use oranges as the first scene. Because I felt that the word death was not very good, so I used a contrast method to describe the first scene.
The materials I used for the first scene were oranges, green oranges, cherry trees and wooden stools. The cherry tree is made with branches, cotton and sprinkled with paint and spray paint. Use the form of contrast to express loneliness, and in the deeper meaning, green oranges also express sourness, and oranges are sweet.
In the second scene, I used a mask, potato chips, dumplings, and matches. But in the end I withdrew the mask. This scene is to express that a person is rowing a boat. At first, I wanted to use a blue mask to represent the sea, but the photos taken were not very effective. So it was replaced with a black base, and boating in the dark was more artistic. I also sprinkled a bit of potato chip crumbs to make it look like the moon is reflecting on the sea. Dumplings represent the moon.
In the third scene, I used an alcohol lid, needle and thread, and sprouted garlic. This scene I want to describe is a person sitting in a hot air balloon by himself. I encountered a lot of difficulties when doing this scene. The first difficulty was that I couldn't fix the garlic on the lid at the beginning. I wanted to use a toothpick to connect, but it was unsuccessful. Later, I thought of using needles and thread, and then I sewed the thread on the garlic, and taped the other end with transparent glue. The second difficulty was I couldn't keep the garlic in suspension. I tried to let them lie flat and express it visually, pretending to be a form of standing, but the photos I took were not good. So I inserted a needle into the bottom of the garlic to lift it up, and then removed the shadow in the background later.
In the fourth scene I used a kerosene lamp stand, a small tree stump, toothpicks, cut oranges and orange peels. The scene is about a person fishing in the dark. The orange peel hung on the toothpicks represents the bait. The kerosene lamp stand represents the fishing platform, and the two lamp covers represent the lighthouse. At first, I wanted to light up both oil lamps to take pictures, because the meaning was a lighthouse, I wanted to make it brighter, but because the fire was too big, it would scorch the character, so for safety, I chose not to light it.
In the fifth and final scene, I used toothpicks, peeled peanuts and a pot of cactus. This scene expresses an old man selling balloons in the park. Insert the peeled peanuts as a balloon into the toothpick. Because the cactus is very tall, the cactus is equivalent to a fountain. In this scene, I didn't use too many materials, but I used shadow and light to take pictures well. The role setting is an old man who lost his wife.
